With Real Madrid’s season deteriorating over time, club president Florentino Perez is planning to orchestrate a big spending spree with Chelsea stars Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois on the agenda alongside several big names.
Real Madrid has performed below expectations this season with the exit of Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez hurting and the new signings not effective enough.
Due to this situation, Perez has decided to reinforce the squad with big names in the summer transfer window in a Spending Spree. The prospect of a new manager to replace Zinedine Zidane is also on the agenda with current Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochenitto heading the list.

Apart from that, the Belgian duo of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois is considered top priority with the stars yet to commit their future to the Blues. The goalkeeper has admitted that his heart lies in Madrid with his family settled there.
Repairing the damaged areas
Yet another area to strengthen is the attacking line up with the fabled trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale failing to deliver. Ronaldo is having one of the worst seasons of his career with the unwanted stat of the worst goal conversion ratio in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Fans and critics alike have voiced their displeasure over their performances this season which brings the need of fresh faces to the lineup.
The Los Blancos have been linked with several players to lead the line as of yet with England International Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah being shortlisted with their goalscoring spree in the Premier League being noted. Yet another name making the list is Neymar who moved to Paris Saint-Germain in a big money transfer. The president was open to Neymar making his way over to the Bernabeu with his comments at the Ballon d’Or ceremony. He said:
“Neymar is not going to win a Ballon d’Or until he’s at Madrid, is he? Playing for Madrid would make it easier for him to win one. Because this is a club that gives a great player what he needs.”
On the other hand, it would be highly unlikely that the club would let go of Neymar who is yet to complete a season at the club. Moreover, players and fans feel alike that Neymar’s attitude won’t be a perfect fit for Real Madrid.
Another realistic name is Mauro Icardi with the La Liga giants willing to match his release clause of €100 million. Robert Lewandowski is a player that Perez admires fondly, but the Bayern Munich star has asserted that he is not open to a move away from the Allianz Arena.
Real Madrid was last involved in a spending spree post the 2014 World Cup where they managed to land stars such as James Rodriguez, Keylor Navas and Toni Kroos. The spendings brought a good spell for the club wherein they managed to collect the trophies including back-to-back Champions League titles. Real Madrid will have to strive hard to land players of this calibre with the change seemingly needed given the performances as of late.
