The Blues will not be parting ways with the Italian trainer anytime soon.
Chelsea are planning to stick to under-fire manager Antonio Conte, according to reports. They have decided to stick to the Italian for now, despite suffering two shocking defeats in recent weeks. Even though Conte’s future is very much up in the air, he will be given time until the end of this season.
Roman Abramovich, who is a very impatient man, has decided against hiring a short-term solution for his club. The reigning league champions face a tough road ahead, as they brace themselves for the business end of the season. They will play both the Manchester clubs in February, alongside a date with the mighty Barcelona in the Champions League.
Chelsea to stay loyal to Conte for the foreseeable future?
Antonio Conte will remain at the helm of Stamford Bridge, Sky Sports News understands. According to reports, he will be provided ample time to turn around the club’s fortunes. There have been a lot of rumors in recent weeks, that Abramovich is on the lookout for a new trainer.
High profile coaches like Carlo Ancelotti and Luis Enrique have been touted to take over from the 48-year-old. However, according to latest developments at the Bridge, these are pure speculations and nothing else. As of now, Chelsea will stick to the former Juventus manager. Conte believes his squad needs some time to recuperate, thereby giving his team three days off before their meeting with West Brom next week.
One has to appreciate Conte’s character though, as he claimed he will keep fighting for his job until his bosses relieve him of his duties.”I’m not worried about my job. I work every day and I give 120 percent, okay? If this is enough, it’s okay. Otherwise, the club can take a different decision. But I’m not worried” said the man who is nicknamed ‘The Godfather‘.

The Italian further added,”Tomorrow is another day. I can be the Chelsea coach or not. My soul is clear and I go to sleep without the problem that ‘maybe I could do this’.
I try to do everything. If this is enough, okay, otherwise the club can take another decision.”
I think it is a smart move from Abramovich to stick to Conte, for now. He has to realize that the Italian led the club to the Premier League title in his very first season in charge. Consistency is the need of the hour for the Blues, and it will be in the club’s best interest to stay loyal to Conte at least until the end of this campaign.
