Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are willing to sell their star to Chelsea, if and only if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrives at the Emirates Stadium.
The 31-year-old has seen himself relegated to the bench with the arrival of club record signing Alexander Lacazette and has thus made only 15 appearances in the league with a total of fewer than 370 minutes played. But despite that, Olivier Giroud is still exactly what Antonio Conte and even Arsene Wenger want walking off the bench, but with an impending signing on the horizon, the Gunners are ready to sell.
While the Frenchman did have a deal with Everton or rather Everton wanted him during the summer, nothing ever materialized as Giroud wanted to stay at the Emirates Stadium side. However, now with Alexis Sanchez’s departure, Arsenal are looking for his replacement and have thus shortlisted forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his replacement.
But this would mean that Giroud would fall even further down the pecking order, something that wouldn’t be ideal for someone aiming for a place in the France World Cup squad. However, with Chelsea looking for a bonafide target man, even linked with moves for both West Ham’s Andy Carroll and Stoke City veteran Peter Crouch, no-one would be better for the Blues than Olivier Giroud.
According to reports from the Metro and even the Daily Mail, Arsenal is willing to let Olivier Giroud go to Chelsea if the Gabon international arrives and if Chelsea meet their 35 million transfer fee for the 31-year-old. While for many that price would seem a bit high, the valuation that Arsenal has given their target man is actually pretty accurate.
Olivier Giroud prefers Chelsea and wants to stay in London, not included in Aubameyang deal, according to Kicker.
Arsenal willing to sell, but only for £35m, according to The Mail.

While the last few seasons have seen Olivier Giroud take a back-seat, first to Alexis Sanchez and now to Alexandre Lacazette, the Frenchman still sits in an elite Arsenal league with 100 plus goals for the club in just under 250 appearances. And since his arrival in 2012, Giroud has always managed to hit double figures in the Premier League and has an excellent goal-scoring record.
Olivier Giroud is a very important player for Arsenal because while he certainly doesn’t have the pace that Alexandre Lacazette has, the 31-year-old has his own set of abilities. With his physical and aerial prowess, Giroud is lethal in the air and thus is highly effective as a substitute for Arsenal, which has been proven over the last few seasons and would certainly do the same for Chelsea.
