Real Madrid to be involved in transfer dealings exceeding €600 million this summer

Real Madrid are gearing up for some high profile arrivals and departures

Marca is reporting that Madrid will begin next season with a new look forward line. Neither of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond this summer. Florentino Perez has finally run out of his patience and is ready to ship the trio off to their respective highest bidders. He expects to recoup around €200 million by these aforementioned sales.

However, Madridistas need not worry about the lack star power at the club. Perez will replace the BBC with NHL; Neymar, Eden Hazard and Robert Lewandowski.

Perez to spend €400 million on NHL

Brazilian superstar, Neymar has long been on Perez’s wanted list. Real President is actively trying to bring in the 25-year-old. However, the biggest obstacle, as expected, will be Neymar’s current employers Paris Saint-Germain. They will not entertain any idea of selling the player they bought for a world record fee of €222 million in the summer. Perez, on the other hand, will leave no stones unturned to bring in the ‘New Ronaldo’. He is the only player who can compete with Ronaldo’s marketability and his off-field presence.

Now, the most achievable of the NHL, Eden Hazard is a player Zinedine Zidane likes. Hazard and Zidane share a mutual admiration and can form a great team for Madrid. The Belgian has long mesmerised the fans in England and now wants to move to the Bernabeu. His current contract ends in 2020 and has refused to sign an extension, anticipating a bid from Madrid.

Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski will take his place as the No.9 in this new look forward line. As stated by Marca he is a centre-forward that Perez admires and has previously tried to bring him to Madrid. Lewandowski is the oldest of the trio, turning 30 in August. His arrival will depend on Bayern Munich and what they’d think will be an appropriate fee for the Pole.

Several reports have linked Mauro Icardi and Harry Kane with Madrid but the duo will cost much more than Lewandowski.

Author’s Take

The source of this news a.k.a. Marca is generally a reliable source. Florentino Perez has proven his competence in the past to overhaul Madrid squad whenever it starts getting stale. He brought in Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka in 2009 and before that bought Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo and Ronaldo in successive seasons. NHL for BBC does not sound too shabby and will recharge a depleting Madrid squad if the moves go through… and that is a huge if.
