West Ham striker, Andy Carroll is speculated to be the next name on Antonio Conte’s transfer window list.
Conte is looking to bolster his front line in the transfer window with Morata and Batshuayi being the only options at the moment. The Italian manager has voiced his displeasure at the Chelsea board after missing out on several targets such as Virgil Van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Fernando Llorente.
Morata’s recent form in the Premier League which has seen him only score a single goal in 7 appearances is making Conte look for other options. Apart from that, the Spanish International had a torrid time in front of goal at the Emirates preventing the Blues from getting all three points in a crucial fixture.
Batshuayi, on the other hand, has been snubbed and has found himself on the bench for most of the season. It has been reported that Conte is looking to loan out the Belgian striker or trade him for Ligue 1 Ace, Thomas Lemar. Andy Carroll who is close to finishing his contract at West Ham, is also being targetted by Southampton.
Carroll’s frustrating times at London
The England International is not happy being on the bench for the London side and spoke about it after his match-winning performance against West Brom. He said: “It’s been very frustrating. I’ve been sitting on the bench – it’s been tough. I’ve been wanting to play. I’ve been wanting to get there and start.

It’s hard when you’re coming on for the last 20 minutes. When I have been I have probably been making an impact but it’s not really what I want to do, I don’t want to be an impact player coming off the bench.”
After witnessing Morata’s performance against Arsenal, having another striker would not hurt for Chelsea. Carroll is a good candidate to fill in the role as he has Premier League experience. The 28-year-old has previously played for Newcastle United and Liverpool. Carroll would be a good fit at Stamford Bridge with his heading prowess being one of the best in the country.
