The attacking duo of Messi and Suarez have received a huge boost ahead of Barcelona’s second half of the season.
Ahead of 2018‘s first fixture and difficult matchups in Spain and Europe, Barcelona has a great news for their fans as their record signing Ousmane Dembele is fully recovered from his Injury.
Barcelona signed the Frenchman for €105m to replace Neymar, but the former-Dortmund player suffered a thigh injury in just his second fixture. The winger ruptured a tendon in his left thigh in Barcelona’s league game against Getafe.
But the 20-year old has fully recovered from his injury as declared by the official club website. The club statement reads:
‘Despite the need for an operation in Finland, Dembele quickly started his recovery process and has now been discharged by the Club’s Medical Services. The 20-year-old is fit to play again after three-and-a-half months out with the injury.’
Dembele was the star of Dortmund’s DFB-Pokas triumph as they beat Bayern Munich in the final. But after his move to the Camp Nou, he could start just one game under Ernesto Valverde before his injury.
The Catalans were in a big trouble at the start of the season as all hell broke loose in the summer. The MSN was separated as Neymar moved to PSG for a record transfer fees. The Super Cup ended in a 5-1 misery against their arch-rivals Real Madrid and Dembele was injured just in his second appearance.
But the situation has miraculously changed at the club since then. Valverde’s men have been unbeaten in the season so far and lead the league table by 9 points. The Catalans also beat Real Madrid 3-0 in the El Clasico to end 2017 in style.
The 20-year old will tie-up with Messi and Suarez in the attack. The duo has been in a great form to help Barca maintain the unbeaten run. The Argentine has scored 15 goals in the league so far and his Uruguayan team-mate is not so far behind with 10 goals, despite starting slowly in the season.

It looks like the Football Gods are really happy with the Cules right now. The Catalans are still unbeaten in the league and Dembele’s comeback will only help the club ahead of the difficult fixtures like Chelsea. Dembele will be available for Barca’s Round of 16 Copa del Rey fixture against Celta Vigo. But it will be interesting to see if the gaffer decides to play him immediately after a long injury lay-off. The injury recovery will also mean there will be a competition for the place in starting XI at the Camp Nou, something which was lacking in Luis Enrique’s last few months as the manager.
