Chelsea winger Eden Hazard demands Kevin De Bruyne to win the Premier League with Manchester City in case the Blues fail to defend their title.
Manchester City have been on a roll this season after dropping just 2 points the entire season so far and netting a staggering 56 goals in the process
Hazard spoke to Sky Sports prior to Chelsea’s clash with Everton at Goodison Park, where he stated that it would be very difficult to catch Manchester City with the form they are in.
When asked about his Belgium teammate Kevin De Bruyne, Hazard was all praises for the midfielder who has scored 7 goals and set up 11 goals for his teammates. Hazard said:
‘He’s a friend, of course when we play against Manchester City I want to beat them but when the 90 minutes are finished he’s my friend.”

Hazard also explained why he wanted Manchester City to capture the title in case Chelsea fail to win it. He stated:
We are playing together for Belgium and we have the World Cup to play so I want to win the league but it’s going to be difficult. ‘So if you [De Bruyne] win the league this year and bring the confidence to the World Cup, it will be good for the Belgians… so, Kevin, you know what to do my friend!’
Hazard on Manchester City’s run this season
Hazard showered praise on how the leaders have played so far this season and lauded their ability to win games even in the last minute. He added:
“This Manchester City [team], from the beginning of the season, they are amazing,’ he added. ‘Of course last year they had good players but now they have good players, they work for each other… they never lose a game, even when they can lose they win in the last minute.”
Hazard concluded by saying that winning this season would be an uphill battle and he is looking forward to it. He said:
This year is going to be difficult to win against them. But we accept this, we take the challenge and we will see what happens at the end of the season.’
Antonio Conte’s side currently lie third in the Premier League table and will face a couple of rough months with crucial knockout fixtures against Arsenal and FC Barcelona in the Carabao Cup and Champions League respectively.
Kevin De Bruyne has been Manchester City’s stalwart this season. The confidence he brings to the Belgium camp ahead of the World Cup would be crucial as they rely on the midfield wizard to perform well in the tournament to better their showing from the 2014 edition where they reached the quarterfinals.
