Thomas Meunier has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the recent months, after falling out of favor at Paris Saint-Germain.

Jose Mourinho is all set to cash out £30 Million to bring the player to Manchester United. Thomas Meunier had an impressive debut season at the Paris based club last season but has struggled for game time this season with the arrival of Dani Alves from Juventus back in summer. Earlier this year, the French international has even admitted that he’s eyeing a dream move to Barcelona.

The player revealed that he rejected a transfer deadline day move to Stamford Bridge, at the start of the 2017-18 campaign. However, as it’s clear that the player will move to Old Trafford, the player teased United fans on Twitter on Tuesday. The player in an interview admitted that he’s frustrated with the playing time he is getting at the club.

Meunier said: “Yes [I am frustrated] because I want to play every match, whether it’s against Gueugnon, Niort or Bayern Munich,” he said in October. “I want to be on the pitch every time. I am in a team which is one of the top five in the world where the back-ups and the starters are about the same level.”

However, while he did start the previous season as a backup, Meunier slowly cemented his place in the starting eleven. He has great link-up play and can connect well with both the midfield and the forwards. The defender likes to hold on the ball, which will surely help United defensively and with Jose Mourinho currently using converted winger Antonio Valencia as a right-back, the 26-year-old French international should be able to fight for a first-team place.

The 26-year-old surely needs to move to keep his World Cup dream alive but when Dani Alves was signed in summer, it was clear to many that Thomas Meunier won’t get much game time. He could be set for a move away in January and is a target for Manchester United, along with Danny Rose and Alex Sandro.

When Meunier arrived at the club, he was not expected to play a big role but when given a chance to prove himself, Thomas Meunier has shown glimpses of what he can do.
