Real Madrid are in a world of trouble after another disappointing result against Atletico Madrid. The League champions are now 10 points behind Barcelona and the things are getting even worse for Los Blancos. If the reports by Spanish media are to be believed, the cracks are opening up in Real Madrid dressing room.

Blaming Ronaldo and Zidane
According to Diario Gol, Madrid striker, Karim Benzema has blamed Ronaldo and Zidane for club’s current form. The Frenchman is apparently frustrated with being the fall guy for team’s poor performance every time.
The reports suggest the striker has taken his frustration to club president, Florentino Perez. Real’s No.9 is unhappy with Ronaldo repeatedly drifting in the center of attack. The striker thinks he can perform better if he is allowed to play in his natural position.
Benzema is also not happy with Zidane’s tactics as he thinks the manager favors Ronaldo due to his superstar status. Benzema and Ronaldo have both scored just one goal each in the League so far. But, the striker feels, Zidane tries to keep the Portuguese happy due to his stardom.

Zinedine Zidane sold Alvaro Morata in order to keep Benzema in the center of attack. But the striker hasn’t repaid the faith shown in him by his compatriot. The 29-year old has scored just twice in 13 appearances this season and had a disappointing outing against Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid are now 10 points behind Barcelona after 12 games and 3rd in the league. Zidane’s men will now take on APOEL in the Champions League. The victory will confirm their spot in the knockout stages but the defending champions are likely to finish 2nd in the group, behind Spurs.
Benzema has been a loyal servant of Real Madrid for a long time now. But, it looks like Real made a mistake by letting a much younger Morata leave instead of Benzema. His form has been a proof of that.
If the reports about the rift are true, things don’t look good for Los Blancos. It is very sad to see their performances hampering the off-field chemistry of the manager and team-mates. Zidane needs to clear the air around it and make sure his team concentrates on football.
