Chelsea hope to make three major signings including two players from Premier League rivals

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made no small issue about the fact that he needs to sign more players before the window ends. The Blues boss has turned his crosshairs on three positions which include central midfield, right-wing back, and left-wing back.

The Blues have made some high profile signings which include Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger, and Tiemoue Bakayoko, but the Champions look short on depth and it showed against Burnley on Matchday 1. Antonio Conte, however, hasn’t stopped and is working on a number of deals ahead of the August 31 deadline.

Alex Sandro:

According to reports, Chelsea has made another inquiry for Juventus’ left-back Alex Sandro despite the Serie A Champions insisting that they will not be selling him. The 26-year-old is Antonio Conte’s first choice to strengthen and add depth to the squad, but Chelsea has already had two bids turned down by the Serie A side including an offer worth £61 million.

Chelsea’s new left back??

The Premier League Champions are more than willing to pay Alex Sandro wages in excess of £100,000 a week but Juventus are adamant not to lose another important first team player after selling Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan. The Old Lady has offered the Brazilian left-back a new contract worth £84,000 a week to persuade him to stay.

However, boss Antonio Conte will be happy to hear that Sandro is yet to agree to a new contract with the club and the Blues remain convinced that the player wants to move to Stamford Bridge. Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said in an interview “Alex Sandro is a Juve player, he’s extraordinary and he’s not moving from here.”

“He’s improved a lot since he arrived here and he still has a margin for improvement. Together with Marcelo, I think he is the best full-back in the world.”

Oxlade Chamberlain and Danny Drinkwater:

Chelsea has also made inquiries for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over a £35 million deal and is expected to submit another bid for Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater after manager Craig Shakespeare rejected a £20 million bid. Chelsea has long been linked with moves for both Chamberlain and Drinkwater, with Conte extremely interested in both players.

Chelsea target both players, with a combined fee of over £55 million.

Chamberlain, on the other hand, is in his final year of his contract with Arsenal and the Gunners just might be open to cashing in on the talented England international. The former Juventus manager sees the Arsenal man as a perfect right wing back option and the 24-year-old will easily add another dimension to Conte’s system.

Both the Englishmen are experienced Premier League players and thus would need no time to adapt to their new surroundings. A consistent and dependable player, Drinkwater would be a solid addition to any team and is also a threat from set-pieces, while the Arsenal man would easily prove to be an upgrade on current right back Victor Moses.

The Champions desperately need a win ever since former Blues man Romelu Lukaku chose Manchester United over them and there’s been an aura of negativity surrounding them. The 48-year-old has been extremely interested in adding new talent to the squad and arrivals of both Chamberlain and Drinkwater will make Chelsea a force to be reckoned with again.
