Wenger hits back at critics saying nothing is good enough for them

Arsene Wenger lashed out back at the critics on Thursday for attacking him for back to back failures of the Gunners with a sharp retort that they won’t be satisfied with whatever performance he puts forth. “Nothing is good enough anymore. You try to do as well as you can.”

For Arsenal, which slipped to the fifth in the Premier League, five points close on the heels of Liverpool, the manager grants top priority to render it finishing top four and make it to the Champions League but he does not assure of that.

“We want to play in the Champions League next season but we have a tough job because we have six or seven teams fighting for places, and how well we do until the end of the season will depend on that.” – Wenger said.Arsene Wenger

Wenger also conceives that finishing top four in the Premier League won’t suffice to dissipate the fans’ desire for his leave.

There had been a herd of protests, affronts, placards with vile afflicting messages hurled out at the Frenchman to shoo him off the London club before the game with Bayern Munich. The broil of ‘Wenger Out‘ fans had risen to such transgressive heights that many didn’t condone the manager’s persistence even in the home games against the Bayern and with Lincoln City last weekend, where Arsenal earned an impressive 5-0 victory over Lincoln City. One of the Arsenal supporters in an exorbitant even laid comparison of the 67-year old with ruthless Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe. Wenger, who is the first ever outsider (from the UK) to foster the managerial responsibility for the club, refused to speak on all that,  “I have nothing to say about that (the protests) anymore. I have talked enough about that.”

“Success is not down to me to judge. Our job is to do as well as we can until the end of the season.”

Gunners will be clashing with Man City next month in FA Cup semi-finals.
