Six players who could still leave Arsenal after Leno and Torreira

Fabrizio Romano revealed today that Arsenal’s focus now is on outgoings, and Bernd Leno and Lucas Torreira are now all set to leave the club after agreeing moves elsewhere.

The German shot-stopper is now about to join Fulham on a permanent deal after four years at the Emirates. Torreira, like Leno, joined us in 2018, and he’s set to leave now as well – to join Turkish giants Galatasaray.

That’s two players almost out of the Arsenal door, but we still have many more we’ve to move on. Here are six such players who could leave the club in the coming weeks.

Six players who could still leave Arsenal after Leno and Torreira

Runar Alex Runarrson:

The Iceland international is still at Arsenal, and it’s clear as day that he has no future at the Emirates.

Runarsson still has almost two years left on his contract, but we’ll be shocked if he isn’t pushed out of the door before the window shuts

Pablo Mari:

The 28-year-old is a good player and is more than a decent backup option to have in the squad. However, with Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, William Saliba and Rob Holding all ahead of him in the pecking order, it’s unlikely he’ll get any game time this season.

Romano has revealed that the next player who is expected to leave Arsenal after Leno and Torreira is Mari, with Monza and Verona both keen.

Hector Bellerin:

Bellerin spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis, and it is no secret that he wants to go back there – this time on a permanent deal.

Arsenal are holding out for a decent fee to let him leave this summer, which has complicated things. However, we expect the Spaniard to move on in the coming weeks – either to Betis or somewhere else.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles:

When we won the FA Cup in 2020, Maitland-Niles was a key part of Arteta’s squad. He was a star at wing-back, but his decision to demand a central midfield role cost him a place in the side.

Even though Maitland-Niles is open to playing anywhere now, it’s too late for him. His time at Arsenal is up, and it is very likely that he’ll leave the club in the coming weeks.

Reiss Nelson:

Like many of the players on this list, Nelson has entered the final year of his contract. He spent a successful season on loan at Feyenoord last term, and even scored a goal in pre-season after he returned.

However, we can’t see where Nelson would fit in at Arsenal, especially if we go out and sign another winger.

Nicolas Pepe:

The Ivorian is our club-record signing, but he has never been the first-choice under Arteta. That isn’t going to change anytime soon either as Bukayo Saka has made the right-wing spot his own.

Pepe has come out and suggested that he wants to stay and fight for a place at Arsenal, but if a decent offer lands on the table in the coming weeks, the Gunners will try to push him out.
