Weekly Loan Report: December 5-11

Takuma Asano

The Japanese international came on in the 85th minute as Stuttgart suffered a tough 0-2 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Asano registered only 6 touches in his limited time on the pitch as Stuttgart never looked able to equalise. He has made 13 League appearances so far for Die Roten, scoring only one goal.

Marc Bola

The 20-year-old left back was an Unused Substitute as Bristol Rovers claimed a 3-0 win over Southend United that pushed them to 15th in League One. Bola’s last league appearance came in mid-October as Darrell Clarke has preferred Lee Brown as the first-choice left back.

Cohen Bramall

The 21-year-old loanee surprisingly earned a start for Birmingham City as the wing back in a 3-5-2 in their 0-1 loss to Fulham. For a player who has not received a league start since August, he was easily Birmingham City’s best player in the first half, making several penetrative runs out wide and aiding in maintaining ball circulation. Bramall did show his lack of match fitness with some poor touches and slow decision-making but considering how well he played, hopefully, it convinces Steve Cotterill to give the youngster more first-team minutes.

Joel Campbell

The Costa Rican international is still recuperating from arthroscopic knee surgery and an ankle sprain suffered against Espanyol in late October. Concerned with his level of fitness, rumours have swirled around Real Betis that they may make a January move for wantaway Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa, according to La Prensa Libre. With the World Cup approaching this summer, Campbell should be worried that if a move for Gabigol goes through, his playing time would fall precipitously.

Carl Jenkinson

The 25-year-old right back recently returned to training from a dislocated shoulder and no timetable has been set by Steve Cotterill for his return to first-team action.

Emiliano Martinez

The Argentinian goalkeeper was an unused substitute as Getafe ground out a 0-0 draw against Eibar. Emiliano has still not appeared for the Azulones in the league as Vicente Guaita has firmly staked his claim in the first-team.

Stephy Mavididi

The 19-year-old forward was an unused substitute as Preston North End claimed a needed 2-1 win over Burton Albion. Stephy has not appeared for the club in the last three league matches.

Kelechi Nwakali

The young Nigerian received his first start in a month as VVV-Venlo drew 2-2 with SC Heerenveen. He displayed good strength and incisive short passes to maintain possession in central areas, though showed a lack of match fitness as the game progressed. He has 9 League Appearances for VVV-Venlo, scoring only one goal.

Lucas Perez

The Spanish forward played 90 minutes as Deportivo La Coruna earned a 1-0 win over CD Leganes. While he was unable to get on the scoresheet, Lucas created problems for the opposition with his wide runs and clever passes into space. His movements allowed Adrian Lopez and Carles Gil to cut inside and constantly test the goalkeeper. He has made 13 league appearances for Deportivo La Coruna, scoring 4 goals and 1 assist.
