Arsenal into the final, Lukaku chase and Arsenal on Belotti alert

The final beckons

Arsenal secured their place in the FA Cup final on May 27th, after beating Manchester City 2-1 after extra time at Wembley. After going 1-0 down, Arsenal responded well and equalised through an unlikely source, when Nacho Monreal scored from a cross from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The winner came in the first half of extra time, as Alexis Sanchez grabbed the goal.

It was a good Performance from the team with notable performances from Gabriel, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Rob Holding as well as the goal scorers, Sanchez and Monreal.

Wenger himself was very pleased with the performance and claimed they showed a united, determined and playful response. Wenger added he was very proud of the players.

Can we now expect an announcement on manager Arsene Wenger’s future after the team secured a result? Watch this space.

Gabriel loves a three

According to Arsene Wenger, centre back Gabriel has found his ideal position playing in a back three. After some shaky performances previously at right back and playing centre back as a pairing, it seems that three is the way forward for the Brazilian defender. Wenger may have stumbled on a formation that could benefit the whole team and give them the defensive cover they have required after recent poor results. Two games with the new formation and two wins is a good start.

Lukaku chase

According to reports in the Mirror, Arsenal are set to bid for Everton powerhouse Romelu Lukaku, with a £65m offer. Everton are keen to keep hold of the player, but with the Belgium striker refusing to sign a new deal, it seems he looks set to leave in the summer. There will be a few suitors for him with Chelsea keeping a keen eye on their former player.

Belotti alert

Arsenal have been put on alert after Torino announced striker Andrea Belotti can leave in the summer. The 23-year-old has scored 24 goals in Serie A this season and has attracted interest from a number of top clubs. Torino manager, Sinisa Mihajlovic has said if a big money offer came in it would be hard to say no. According to reports, Arsenal failed with a £55m bid in January for the Italian.

Pickford not London bound

Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford looks set to join Everton, rather than Arsenal in the summer. Everton are leading the race to sign the talented keeper who has been in good form despite Sunderland’s poor season. Pickford would demand a fee of around £15m for his services.
