Theo Walcott was dropped from the England squad by England Manager Gareth Southgate. Southgate admitted the timing was not great considering he rang him in the morning of his birthday. Southgate did stress that Walcott was not happy about being dropped. Southgate has put the omission down to the England side wide players playing differently to what Walcott can offer.
It seems strange on the day Theo Walcott gets dropped from the England squad, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is singing his praises. Wenger has been impressed with how Walcott has turned up for big games, improved tactically and works hard defensively and offensively. Wenger spoke to Walcott in the summer to discuss his best position and how he could improve his game. The talk seems to have done the trick with Walcott scoring 17 goals in all competitions so far.
Jon Toral has signed a new long term contract with the club. Apparently he signed in January, before his loan move to Glasgow Rangers.

Good news for all Arsenal fans. Salomon Kalou has signed a new contract at Hertha BSH, which should mean we don’t get linked with the 31 year old ex-Chelsea player. We should be Kalou free for the next 6 months. Hopefully.
The Sun are reporting that Arsene Wenger has dropped his biggest hint so far that he will stay at the club. It seems the Frenchman has taken a a big interest of late in the club’s academy project at Hale End. His enthusiasm for the project has convinced people at the club that an announcement will be soon, stating Wenger will be staying at the club.
More Arsenal gossip and reports are circulating that Arsenal are interested in Porto striker Andre Silva. The 21 year old has scored 20 goals so far this season. It would seem Silva would command a price of £52m.
Arsenal have also been linked with Celtic’s Moussa Dembele and Torino front man Andrea Belotti.
Arsene Wenger has not yet confirmed it Alexis Sanchez will start against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. The Chilean forward was dropped against Liverpool after a training ground bust up.
According to the Sun, the FA Cup semi finals will be played on Saturday 23rd April and will feature Arsenal against Manchester City. This leaves Sunday 24th April for Tottenham versus Chelsea. There is no official confirmation currently.
