Saturday we had 5 plays all in College Hoops. At the end of the day, we posted a 3-2 day.
In College Hoops: E. Illinois +7.5 82-65, Illinois +4.5 70-66, W. Illinois +11.5 91-100. We lost with Colorado +12 73-101 and NC State +5 72-81. Of note 2 of our wins won outright as nice dogs, Illinois and E. Illinois.
Today so far I have sent out no plays.
I had a first a few days ago that I mention only for instructive purposes as it is an example of my suggestions that you first have to eliminate whatever bad habits you have before you can become a successful gambler. Until you do that, you do not have a chance. The edges are thin so any leaks will sabotage your success.
On the other hand, if you do become one of the rare few, you will have many years of success as a gambler.
Now this example is not to embarrass anyone. And I add there is nothing that anyone viewing this site or subscribes to this site can do that I have not done over the last 50 years:)
Now onto my example. I received a new subscriber 2 weeks ago. And as it turns out the person subscribed at a pretty good time as they hit the upswing early in the month. But 2 days ago I received an email saying
“Hey Rick. I’m gonna cancel my sub. Thanks anyway. You can discontinue all these messages immediately. Thanks. ”
As it turns out by my calculation assuming a betting method of 2% of a betting bankroll the subscriber would of been +2.5 units for the period they had subscribed.
So the lesson to this is 1: realistic expectations and 2: See my earlier thoughts on plugging your leaks.
I have a group of professional sports handicappers I network with. And we are all in agreement that putting out winners is not the hard part of having a successful handicapping site. The hard part is preventing subscribers from self-destructing.
Again, this is for educational purposes only, and again I have stories of what I have done over the years that would bring smiles to everyone’s faces:)
Good Luck Today
