A good start to the $1500 Westgate NFL Super Contest going 3-1 on my contest picks. The bears let me down Sunday but other than that Denver, Detroit and Jacksonville came through.
On Sunday for plays, we had a 1 unit play in MLB with Tampa +115 winning 4-2 and a 1/2 unit play on Atlanta Under 46 that lost 31-24.
Also on Sunday we had 4 big move games
Tampa +123 (Middle)
White Sox -152
Houston +143
Colorado -125
With the closing lines:
Tampa +113 (Middle)
White Sox -152
Houston +124
Colorado -133
3 of the 4 games moved our way with the 4th staying the same. These are about as consistent as you can get in predicting line moves.
If you’re a MLB Handicapper and are looking for an indicator to give you an idea of which way the line might move this is about as good an indicator as you can find. And all part of the subscription package!!!

My Response:
There are many books about handicapping and sports betting. It would be safe to say that 99% of them are completely worthless. The most successful handicappers do not share their prized secrets. They never have and never will.
Myself I give out far more information about my techniques than most. All you need do if you have the time is go back to my first post and start reading. Then cut and paste the significant portions that are posted for teaching techniques. When you are done you will have a nice list of areas to concentrate on.
My techniques, for the most part, are centered around being a contrarian. Combine that will extensive real-time and backtest, evaluation of special situations, and finally modeling and you get a good idea of what I do.
One of the difficulties is that each sport is unique. Not only that each period in a season for each sport is also unique. I have over the years codified what I do but even then books change it up and you have to adjust quickly.
Retirement??? I am only 69! I have not given it a thought. But when the time comes I will see what I can do to make available in a concise systematic form my methods for handicapping. Perhaps in 20 years or so:)
