7 Morning Routine Ideas That Work

I wrote this list to give you Morning Routine Ideas that can help you jumpstart your day in the right direction. Many people are looking for ways to start their day with a routine before going to school or work that helps them look forward to their day ahead.

If you want to be successful in your life, you must develop a Morning Routine. As the old saying goes: Nothing Changes Until You Do. This is a short and simple post about morning routines, so I’m not going to beat around the bush, and I’m not going to add a lot of useless fluff.

This is a general guideline for morning routines, so it is not a one size fits all model. Try what works and let go of what doesn’t.

7 Morning Routine Ideas List

Before you start your morning routine, make sure you are committed to change.

  1. Prepare your morning the night before. Have your clothes, your breakfast, and your lunch ready the evening before. Don’t overburden your morning with preparation work when you can do it the night before. Don’t forget to do the dishes the night before too!
  2. Set a sleep schedule and stick to it. Each person’s sleep needs are different, so experiment with how much sleep you require and what sleep times are best for you. Some people can get by on four hours while others need 9. Start a sleep journal and figure out the best time to go to bed and wake up and how much sleep you need to function at your best.
  3. Take a cool shower in the morning. A cool or if you’re feeling adventurous, a cold shower will stimulate your nervous system and put your mental attitude in a good place. If you don’t shower in the morning, then stick your face in a sink or bowl full of cold water.
  4. Drink one to two bottles of clean, filtered water as soon as you wake up. Water hydrates the body and improves your energy and your mood. Plus, drinking water will help clear out your bladder, so you don’t get a U.T.I.
  5. Have a protein-packed breakfast. Eat eggs, meat, or a protein powder smoothie after you drank your two bottles of water. Protein provides amino acids your brain needs to function at its best. Skipping breakfast may seem like a good idea, but it usually leads to overeating later in the day.
  6. Read something inspirational. Some people like to read passages from their religion or read personal growth inspirational ideas. It doesn’t matter the source of what you read for inspiration, make sure it puts your mind in a positive place.
  7. Move your body. Walking, running, weight-training, stretching, and yoga. Do something for ten to fifteen minutes in the morning that gently stimulates you. Exercise release endorphins, which will make you feel better throughout the day.

Start Your Morning Routine

I know having a morning routine seems like a stretch for you, but don’t let it. Be sensible when it comes to making changes in your life. Start small. Take one or two morning routine ideas from the list and go from there.
