- Trust God Only

"They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever." (Psalm 125:1)

Things may be hard some days, but those are the days when you've got to trust God the most. Only He can help you. You may have people with connections, but even these folks will fail you.

Growing up, the LORD taught me an important lesson. He said no man can help you if God won't help you. The intention might be there, but no man has the real power to help without God's permission, whether they are aware of it or not. This is basically why the butler couldn't help Joseph in jail.

The day he left jail, he had the Heart to, but no one can define where the heart goes in time except God (Jeremiah 10:23). The Bible says the heart is in His hands and He turns it where He wills. Joseph was expecting help from man, but God taught him the same lesson; and in two years after the disappointment was glaring, God turned the same heart back to remember Joseph.

In essence, why trust the heart of a man when you can trust He who determines the heart? I don't care if he has promised or has a lot of money, the Bible says "Puny man! Frail as his breath! Don’t ever put your trust in him!" (Isaiah 2:22 TLB). And this is because, "The Lord says: Cursed is the man who puts his trust in mortal man and turns his heart away from God. He is like a stunted shrub in the desert, with no hope for the future; he lives on the salt-encrusted plains in the barren wilderness; good times pass him by forever." (Jeremiah 17:5-6 TLB).

But for he who chooses God, the Bible says he will stand strong even in certain times. It says such a man will be helped (see Psalm 37:5; Proverbs 3:5-6), because "But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence. He is like a tree planted along a riverbank, with its roots reaching deep into the water—a tree not bothered by the heat nor worried by long months of drought. Its leaves stay green, and it goes right on producing all its luscious fruit." (Jeremiah 17:7-8 TLB)
