DAILY VITAMIN 

- Your Best Days Are Before You (1)

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall Spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19)

A couple of years back, an aunt of mine was diagnosed with multiple tumors. The diagnosis was so complicated that they couldn't tell if it was cancer or what. But the doctor's remarks didn't inspire confidence. Almost like he was saying "There's no hope. Just see out your last few days" in the most subtle way. 

We couldn't blame him because truly how can one treat what one doesn't understand. They didn't understand, but God understands all things. For the next five years, she sat on a plastic chair all day, and laid on the ground all night with her now excessively bloated abdomen, but God kept reassuring us in His Word that He would come through for her. So we kept praying and we kept believing. 

All through those years no hospital would risk having Surgery on her, at least not until a certain one decided they would. The chance of survival they scaled at rather next to zero, but it was their opinion, not God's. They didn't know we weren't relying on them, but on Jehovah Rapha our healer, with whom there's always a chance of not just surviving, but living to the full again. 

At the end, the surgery was successful; she recovered swiftly, and in three months she was twice as fat as she originally was, and three times as young. Today, she is bouncing with health and vitality every day in the Lord, you'd hardly believe she's in her fifties or the lady that was emaciated on a sickbed. They said her days were over, but God said they just begun. And she's still fulfilling the number of her days. 

Like her, I believe God is just starting with you. Where you thought you had a desert before you, He's bringing in springs of water over there. He's bringing in such a testimony your way that if they had told you it would happen, you wouldn't believe it. So, cheer up. Your best is yet to come. God said it, He will do it. 

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I thank you because goodness lies before my path. You said that where I had shame, you'd grant me double praise. You said my path shines brighter with each day. You said you are just starting with me, such that even a whole house won't be able to hold what you've prepared for me. Because I live to honour you, you said you will also honour me; and all of these to the glory of your Name. Amen.
