Supercharge Your Prayers

If you’re a gardener, you might sometimes look at your plants and decide that they’re missing something.

They need more “oomph.”

That’s where fertilizer comes in.

It can supercharge your flowers and vegetable plants by providing them with nutrients, such as nitrogen, that might be lacking in the soil.

With the addition of fertilizer, your plants can grow to their full potential and become as fruitful as they were meant to be.

Similarly, our Prayers sometimes need more oomph, too.

But how do we give them that? How do we go about supercharging our prayers?

By asking other Believers to join us!

Having others come alongside us in prayer is like adding fertilizer to our requests and petitions.

Other believers can provide us with things we lack. They can make up for the areas in which we might be deficient.

Perhaps you’re feeling weary and discouraged: let a believing friend be your strength and support as you pray together.

Maybe you’re confused about the troubles you’re facing and don’t even know where to begin: let other believers formulate prayers for you with the clarity and perspective that you might be lacking.

“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (James 5:16)

Fellow believers might be able to zero in on aspects of your situation that you might not have thought of. You might not have realized that you were weak in a certain area until a brother or sister in Christ lovingly asked God to strengthen you in that respect.

Jesus gave us a good example of interceding for friends. He prayed for Simon Peter when his disciple had no idea of the challenges he was about to face.

“But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” (Luke 22:32)

Another believer might have the boldness to ask God for something on your behalf that might not have crossed your mind. Their prayer can stir up your faith and increase your confidence in the goodness of God.

“Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:19-20 AMP)

Of course, the best way to supercharge your prayers is to ask the Holy Spirit to take the wheel at those times when you simply don’t know what to pray.

“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” (Romans 8:26)

Do you want to add “oomph” to your own prayers?

Apply the fertilizing power of the prayers of fellow Christians and the Holy Spirit, and watch amazing things happen!

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”

ephesians 6:18
