As I reflect on God I am overwhelmed with emotion and awe. There’s just sooo much about Him that there is to appreciate.
FAITHFULNESS
First, I think of His faithfulness. Have you ever stopped to consider how little time you spend thinking about God yet He still keeps your heart beating, your lungs expanding, everything about you functioning!?
And all this without our putting in a request! I’m glad God is faithful. I’m glad that He doesn’t stop thinking about me. I’m glad that He’s faithful enough to keep blessing me even when I don’t have Him on my mind.

OFFER OF FRIENDSHIP
Now it’s not just God’s friendship I appreciate- it’s the fact that He’s even offering it. By that I am blown away. In fact, there are people who are so blown away by this idea of a God who wants friendship, that they stay away! I once shared Christ with a young woman at a university who couldn’t accept that such a great being would want friendship with her! How sad! But what kept her away is what draws me.
Think of God’s infinity. Think of His role as Creator. Think of His majesty and glory. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with Someone so amazing? I’m glad God is not just awesome all by Himself somewhere up there- but I rejoice that He extends to me the opportunity to walk with Him.
POWER
Yes! And not just power, but ALL power! I don’t serve a weak, second-class God. He is at the top! There’s nobody stronger. Think about that. He is the most powerful and He is all powerful. He exerts power to keep every star and every planet upheld. And again, He makes that power available to work on my behalf.
When contending with a strong man in my life or my family I have the advantage because I have One who is stronger than all strong men put together. Even if my situation may not look like it, by faith I still thank God for His power. The fact that He may choose not to use it does not change the reality of it. So here’s to the power of God!
