After reading the article,  The Empathy Trap: Understanding The Sociopath-Empath-Apath Triad, By Drs. Jane and Tim McGregor, the connection between the Narcissist and empath is fascinating. Many empaths find themselves entangled and abused by narcissist. Grossly…narcissist intentionally set out to hurt, while empaths set out to help and heal and nurture.  In the end, the empath loses EVERY TIME.   Sociopathy affects an estimated 1- 4% of the population, but not all sociopaths are cold-blooded murderers. They’re best described as people without a conscience, who prey on those with high levels of empathy, but themselves lack any concern for others’ feelings
