Thoughts alone create actions; activities gain a potency from the thought power that feeds them. When the feeder i.e. the thought becomes dissipated in many directions and hence weak, the execution power also becomes weak in efficiency and strength, this is a basic fact.
Thoughts from a single pointed mind must flow steadily in full inspiration and enthusiasm towards the goal which the individual has chosen to create for himself. Mere Thinking in itself is never enough, as mentioned in the famous stanza in the Holy Geeta
“To those men who worship Me alone, thinking of no other, to those ever self-controlled, I secure for them that which is not already possessed by them, and preserve for them what they already possess” IX-22
To a raw intellect of a rational thinking intelligent man, Religion is ever a puzzle which at a moment is a joke and yet at another moment doesn’t fail to amaze him where modern science with its raw intellection fails at the sheer intelligence of nature. The above stanza need not be insulting to such a man’s intelligence if it is properly understood with an integrated equipment of mind-intellect, which is used to understand subtle philosophical truths clothed in poetry.
Here, the term worship means to invoke the profit potential in any given Field of endeavor, which indicates the total effort necessary in carving out one’s victories in one’s Chosen Field. The two main secret factors for success are revealed as consistency of willing and thinking and pouring out ourselves with a singleness of purpose, another unavoidable factor is self-control, which can be illustrated with an example.
An aspiring individual consistently maintaining his ambition walks out to the field of activity is met with different other plans and directions which can be more attractive, to be single-pointed and act on the chosen field of endeavor is to be SELF-CONTROLLED at all times.
Anxiety to gain and Worry to guard are the two preoccupations which tear into bits and pieces the tranquility of an individual, he who has none of these is the luckiest, he has gained all that is to be gained. Here in this stanza it is promised that he who has fulfilled the three conditions
Single-pointed mind and willConsistent effort towards the goalSelf-Control
Need not be anxious about having to gain or worry to guard because the law behind nature will see to it. When water is let out from a height for irrigation, we only have to let it out. Water flows from higher level to lower level is a law of nature, similarly, he who has fulfilled conditions 1,2,3 pertaining to the physical, mental and intellectual levels is eligible for the highest success is the law.
