Laptops Hitting the Evolution Button

Laptops have been around since the late 1980’s, and were bulky heavy machines. Since the late 80’s Laptops have slimed down to be a fraction of their original weight with increasingly better technology. A laptop review today is an easy way to find what laptop is right for your needs. We can see here at the end of 2017 laptops are gearing up to hit the evolution button again in terms of its updates.

Today, we will look further into what is happening behind the scenes to make laptops more superior than what we already have. Let’s get started!

Listening to People

Many companies listen to the advice of the masses when it comes to how to better a product. Product and development teams from Qualcomm have taken the insights of people seriously when it came to laptops.

The most common item listed among people was that of Battery life. Many people love their smart phones, and the battery life that is connected to them. They would like to see a laptop that has the same technical setup to where the battery has extremely long life.

Having the Smart-Phone Infused Laptop

The market already has 2-1 style laptops where it takes the place of a smart-tablet and a laptop; however, this idea is expanding on its technology. Qualcomm is expanding upon this technology by inserting the Snapdragon 835 processor that is used to power smartphones. The reason for this upgrade is to give these 2-1 style laptops massive standby time like that of a smart phone.

HP and Asus have these chips in their newest laptops, which have a 20-hour laptop battery with 700 hours of standby time. So in a sense these new laptops act like a smartphone where the battery will hardly lose power when not in use.

Wi-Fi and LTE Connection

One of the hassles for current laptop users is that of having a dedicated secure network to connect to. This is where the LTE network that has been used by mobile devices will take some weight off laptop user’s shoulders. This newer generation of laptops will run off the same LTE network as the mobile network, making signals much easier to acquire.

It may seem problematic that laptop users might have to connect to a LTE data plan; however, the good news is that by 2020, the 5G network is expected to be running everywhere. This will make unlimited data plans the norm, and any remaining problems with Wi-Fi will most likely be instantly solved.

Looking at final insights about laptop evolution, we can see improved Wi-Fi signals and longer battery life to be the norm. There are still a lot of questions to be answered when it comes to other features that will be upgraded in these new laptops, but many of these questions will be answered at the Consumer Technology Association conference in 2018.
