Release notes – February 6 2018

On Tuesday, February 2nd 2018, we began to deploy a regular service update. We upgrade production services in batches, and it takes about a week for the update to complete.

Below are the new features shipped in this release:

New functionality

  • We are pleased to announce the public preview of Tagging in Azure API Management. See our full blog post to understand how tagging can help you sort, organize and provide context for you API consumers.
  • We are also announcing the planned deprecation of the publisher portal. We will be removing this functionality on April 1st 2018. Read more about the publisher portal deprecation.

Updates and fixes

  • Rather than encoding XML-based policy definitions into JSON when calling create or update apis (for policy, api or operation), customers can now provide a link to an XML document, for example:
Request body:
{
  "properties": {
    "policyContent": "http://yourserver.com/policy.xml"
  }
}
