Recap: Christmas Coding Challenge by TUM MSPs and Computer Science Meetup [January 2017]

Ein Blogbeitrag von Lukas Pollmann:

From January the 20th until February the 15th 2017 the Microsoft Student Partners at the Technical University of Munich and the organizers of the TUM Computer Science Meetup organized a Christmas Coding Challenge for Students at the TUM. Microsoft sponsored the prices of this great competition. The participants had to develop concepts and prototypes of Solutions to enhance the study life of students. They had to include our Azure Platform in their solutions. On top of that, each team handed their project in for our Imagine Cup.

The competition was completely organized by the MSPs and the Tum Csc Meetup team. They came up with the Challenges concept, theme and prices. Also the jury and judging was done by this team. We helped to spread the challenge in the students community and organized the prices for it. It was also mentioned at the TUM CSC Meetup meetings and at the TUM. In the end they had over 15 submission, of which 10 fulfilled the criteria of the challenge. As the MSPs told us, it was not easy to decide for a winner team, but in the end, three teams from TUM won at the challenge.

The first price was awarded  to the “Script to questions Bot” team which can transform study scripts to training questions, to prepare better for tests and exams. The three members, Jakob, Oliver and Sophia each won a Xbox One Fifa bundle. The second price was awarded to the “MC-ML-Generator” team. Their solution can create multiple choice tests with the help of machine learning. The two members, Tom and Philipp, each won a Xbox One Controller bundle. The third price was awarded to the “Memossist” team. Their solution helps students to better memorize texts and ideas for their exams. The two members Mahdi and Ghazal, each won a Raspberry Pi 3.
