Business success is all about efficiency. From small firms to multinational organizations, managing on-field mobile users and daily tasks effectively is usually the biggest hurdle. At Microsoft, we decided to meet this challenge head-on.
The challenge was compounded by the changing nature of business in the emerging world. Mobility has reshaped the way emerging markets do business. Billions of people across the world have experienced computing for the first time through a handheld mobile device. To them, this device is not only the first but also the only computing device. This mobile-first world has offered many entrepreneurs their first genuine commercial opportunity.
Connecting mobile users with a simple and secure chat interface
Kaizala – Microsoft’s productivity app for real-time coordination is the result of the focus on the changing business landscape. The simple chat-based app enables mobile users to get the job done in a secure way and achieve more.
Designed particularly for business use, the mobile app offers a communication platform to facilitate easy delegation and monitoring of tasks to enhance productivity. One can quickly set up groups in line with the organization structure and on-board partners and vendors to drive seamless collaboration on the go. Kaizala can host over one million contacts in a group and complies with industry-leading security standards. The app’s organizational attributes minimize the digital clutter of unnecessary messages.
Microsoft focused on rudimentary tasks common across industries and businesses to re-think and re-imagine productivity for mobile-only markets. We discovered several common actions that were ripe for disruption. Assigning and tracking tasks, managing vendors and contractors, broadcasting announcements and tracking bills were all tasks that could be substantially enhanced with an integrated mobile app.
Here are some of the ways mobile users can use the app:
Enabling swift, real-time coordination for e-governance
Kaizala also forms an effective tool for e-governance. In India, it was an integral part of Krishna Pushkaram 2016 in Andhra Pradesh. The mammoth event is held once every twelve years; it involved about 20 million people converging for pilgrimage in a short span of 12 days. 220 multi-disciplinary teams collaborated on Kaizala to delegate and track tasks, pre-emptively manage incidents and share feedback to make the 12-day-long festival a success.
More and more organizations are adopting Kaizala to improve operational efficiency and increase productivity. The Government of Andhra Pradesh, the NITI Ayog, Society of Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Election commission- Government of Uttar Pradesh, Educational Institutes – Dayalbagh are some of the organizations using Kaizala for swift coordination. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Chandrababu Naidu, intends to deploy this app for e-governance across the state. Andhra Pradesh could be the first state to officially adopt the app for managing daily governance activities, paving the way for real-time governance.
Driving efficiency to empower businesses in emerging markets
The business-focused social app is likely to have a big impact on businesses across emerging markets. Commercial activities in developing markets are already driven by mobile technology. Mobile payment apps, social networks, and digital invoices are already commonplace in emerging markets. The Kaizala app brings these functions together in an integrated platform and offers a powerful platform for successfully running a mobile workforce.
Kaizala’s business-focused features such as aggregated reports powered by Office 365 BI, custom action cards and advanced IT administration will enable users to collaborate seamlessly, drive operational efficiency and take their businesses to the next level.
Today, mobility has become imperative to business success. It is enabling better communication, better processes and enhanced productivity. Microsoft is committed to deliver transformational impact across business sizes through mobility.
Kaizala is one example of empowering mobile users with simple and sophisticated chat-based tools. Our teams are working to advance mobility quickly so that collaboration is maximized for the increasingly mobile workforce and business ecosystem.
The Kaizala app is available for download in Google’s Play Store, the Apple store and the Windows store.
