Final Update: Sunday, 23 October 2016 01:38 UTC

We have mitigated all previously reported problems with Work Items TFVC and Git as of 23 October 2016 01:30 UTC. A very small subset of Visual Studio Team Service accounts might experience issues assigning work items to newly added users. Mitigation for these accounts is still in progress.

Update: Saturday, 22 October 2016 17:00 UTC

We have started the roll out of the scripts on different regions of the service to get the currently impacted accounts to correct state. This fix would make sure any corrupted data in the impacted Visual Studio Team Services accounts are back to normal state.

As of now, Visual Studio Team Services customers across all regions should have no issues in accessing their shelve sets and workspaces

We are expecting this to be complete within the next four hours.

Manjunath

Update: Friday, 21 October 2016 20:29 UTC

A subset of the following types of accounts are currently impacted:

  • Accounts that have been imported from TFS OnPrem installations
  • Accounts that have been linked to Azure Active Directory

The impacted accounts may experience one or more of the following problems:

Work Item Tracking:

  • Inability to assign workitems to project members
  • Incorrect query results while querying based on identity fields
  • Errors while accessing queries

Git/Version Control:

  • Failures while accessing Shelvesets and Workspaces
  • Incorrect results for historical searches based on author
  • Same user may show up twice in history with different display names

The team is validating the fix currently and we will be rolling this out across our regions as soon as we have completed the verification.

  • Next Update: Before 23:30 UTC

Sincerely,
Harish

Initial Update: Friday, 21 October 2016 01:18 UTC

We are actively investigating issues with Visual Studio Team Services where some users whose accounts that were imported from Team Foundation Server or those accounts that were converted from an MSA account to an AAD account might face access issues with various VSTS artifacts. We have identified a possible fix and are in the process of deploying the hotfix .

We are working to resolve this issue and apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,
Manjunath
