With Mothers Day approaching fast, if you still haven’t thought about what gift to buy, don’t worry! You still have over 5 days still to decide. If you are like me, and struggle for gift ideas or fed up of giving the same old bunch of flowers or box of chocolates each year, this list will hopefully help you find a more thoughtful gift for this years Mothers Day.
I have decided to keep the ideas on this post within a budget of £50 (apart from one exception which I’ve listed at the bottom of the post), as in my personal opinion it’s the thought that counts and I understand that Mothers Day gifts aren’t ever intended to be as expensive as Christmas/Birthday presents.
A Portable phone charger
These are always a great choice for all occasions and are perfect for anyone who owns a smart Phone, especially for smart phones which have terrible battery lives. Amazon currently sell a wide range of portable phone chargers, ranging from as little as around £10 and going to £100+. Of course, you only get what you pay for but you can get yourself a 3350mAh for as little as £10. If you’re not so techy and are wondering what a 3350mAh charge can give, it’s roughly equivalent to one full complete charge.
Most portable phone chargers these days come in a standard format, being USB powered for the ‘out’ and using the standard android style charger port to charge it up (which are usually provided with your purchase), so you should have no compatibility problems, but it’s always best to check the full item description before making a purchase.
Tablets aren’t always an expensive gift to buy, and in matter of fact, a lot of tablets these days are pretty cheap (Excluding the Apple range). For example you can buy an Amazon fire tablet which is only £49.99 which still performs great and comes with a stunning 7 inch display.
We are currently working on a review for this tablet, which will soon be available to be viewed, but from what we have gathered so far, it’s a top of the range tablet for it’s price.
Smart phone / Laptop accessories
There are a wide range of smart phone and laptop accessories that you can purchase, a few examples are:
- Phone cases
- Laptop travel cases/bags
- Bluetooth speakers
- Styli Pens
- Headphones / Earphones – In particular, the ones I have linked which are £12.99. These provide exceptional comfort and come with 3 soft silicone rubber ear tips to maximise reducing outside noise. They also come with a built in microphone and a carry pouch comes included on purchase. Another great thing about them is that they work with smart phones, tablets, computers, MP3 players and other devices as they fit in the standard 3.5mm port.
All of these may seem like a naff gift ideas but you’ll be surprised how expensive and advanced some are these are. I also noticed that Amazon are currently offering a wide range of accesories which can be found here.
Another option, which is a bit above the budget present is the Amazon Kindle. In my opinion this would be a great present for Mothers Day, it offers a 6 inch high resolution display offering 300 PPI with a built in light and built in WiFi. The screen (unlike tablets) has anti-glare, meaning you can use it in complete direct sunlight and still be able to easily read the screen. Amazon are currently offering £20 off if you order through an Amazon associate, so if you’d like to get your Mother or even treat yourself to an Amazon Kindle, you can order it from the following link for just £89.99 instead of the usual £109.99. Be quick though as the offer ends on the 6th of March so you only have 6 days to get it ordered.
There are a wide range of ‘Tech’ items you could purchase your mother for Mothers day, and with times changing the big question is: Will buying tech items become the norm for Mothers Day in the near future? Or will the tradition remain with the usual flowers and chocolates etc.
