Today, Unify Square secured $3.92 million in funding, bringing its total amount raised to $33.09 million. This net new capital infusion will be used to continue growth and expansion of Unify Square’s Skype for Business focused portfolio of offerings — PowerSuite operations solutions software and PowerAssurance managed services. These Unify Square offerings will continue to focus aggressively on enterprise hybrid cloud/on-premise Skype for Business environments. However as Microsoft continues its drive into the UC Cloud and increases its focus on Skype for Business Online as a key component of Office 365, Unify Square’s offerings will be critical in helping global enterprises manage through this transition. Existing angel investors have provided this round of funding, signaling their continued confidence in the strategy and direction of Unify Square.
According to the latest research, the global market for Unified Communications is forecast to reach $96.0 billion by 2023, up from $12 billion in 2015. Combined with the recent series of updates to Skype for Business – free audio & video conferencing, Skype Operations Framework, Skype Broadcast translation capabilities, Skype for Business mobile client updates, etc. – Microsoft is well positioned to capture the UC market. Unify Square partners with Microsoft to help customers with planning, deployment, training and the ongoing management of Skype for Business and has served 275+ global customers with more than 5 million seats since inception in 2008. Today’s funding announcement strengthens our ability to continue to innovate and deliver for our mutual Skype for Business customers laying the groundwork for increased global UC adoption.
