COVID-19 situation is changing with every passing day. There is clarity on how long things are going to remain like this. While governments all across the globe are doing their best to minimize the damages people and businesses are suffering, there’s still a lot that needs to be done.

From building a better work culture with strong emphasis on remote work to promoting mental healthcare, work-life balance and adding flexibility to your work schedules — there’s a lot that you need to do.

These all might look like big decisions, but not taking them is going to hurt your business and your team. These aspects of work are going to be a big part of the new normal in the future.

Switch from being plan-driven to purpose-driven

In the future, only those businesses that are driven with purpose are going to thrive. As a leader you need to shift your focus from just creating a plan to creating a purpose that drives the entire team.

We have seen during these times that even the best of the plans have been cut-short by the pandemic. Businesses that were moving forward with a purpose have been able to survive this phase by adapting to the changes. And, it is going to be like this in the years to come.

Speak to your team about solutions

Most important of all, be vocal and inspire your team to be the same. Tough times in business will come and go, but you need your team to be together. This is where speaking to each other helps.

Lead by example and communicate the challenges the business is facing at any stage, and the possible solutions you have in mind. You never know, someone in the team might have something better that you would have never even thought of.
