The secret to making a latte is to add the coffee first, then the Milk. The same applies when making a latte with a Nespresso Machine. There are some Nespresso machines that’ll make a latte with the click of a button, but those that have something a little more basic will need to invest in a milk frother or use a whisk and some muscle, the old-fashioned way.
Nespresso has its own milk frother, called the Aeroccino 3, which makes hot milk foam, hot milk and cold froth, so it can be used for cappuccinos, iced lattes and a lot more. If you don’t have a milk steamer or a Nespresso machine with a steam wand to froth the milk, you can use a whisk, by by heating milk to 150°F then whisking until bubbles foam, tapping the pitcher on the counter intermittently to break down large bubbles, or a French press like this one from Mueller, pumping up and down, fast, until bubbles form.

Instructions
- Start by frothing some milk, ideally around 250ml/8oz for a large cup, and 125ml/4oz for a small cup, setting this to the side when done.
- Make the espresso in your Nespresso machine in the cup you'll be serving in: three shots for a large and two shots for a small.
- Tap the container of milk on a hard surface, and swirl, to break down any remaining large bubbles, then slowly pour the milk into the center of the espresso.
