What is Pick to Light?

Pick to light is an order-fulfillment technology designed to improve Picking accuracy and efficiency.   It lowers the labor cost. This system employs alphanumeric displays and buttons at storage locations, to guide your employees in assembling, sorting, putting, and light-aided manual picking.

How Does Pick to Light Work?

First operators scan item barcodes which are attached to reusable and temporary Holding Containers like shipping cartons. Then the system’s alphanumeric display lights up and illuminates a path to guide the operator to the indicated storage location. The system then indicates how many and which items should be picked. Then the operator picks the item and places them in the holding container. Then press a button to confirm the picking. Like this, the system continues, illuminating each sector for picking until all items have been picked and placed in their respective holding containers.

Pick to light offers a digital readout and an acknowledgment button, to enable more detailed instructions and options. Your chosen system allows to record basic data to the employees, such as variations in pick size; other systems could detail special instructions, additional information, zone directions, and order numbers.
