Setting up subtitles and captions on Apple TV is as simple as you do on iOS device. To set up captions on 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV follow the steps below:

Step 1: Click Setting option present on the main screen of Apple TV.

Step 2: Next click General > Accessibility > Closed Captions and SDH.

Step 3: Enable Closed Captions and SDH using your Apple Remote.

This way you will be able to see captions and subtitles for the shows you watch on your Apple TV.

To set up captions on 4th generation Apple TV follow the steps below:

Step 1: Swipe down from top on the sensitive part of your remote to find Info Panel.

Step 2: Next swipe right to locate “Subtitles” panel.

Step 3: From here, swipe down and select the option as per your preference.

You will now be able to see captions for the video you are a watching.

TV apps don’t have the same touch ability as in iPhone. But still Apple TV tries to make things easy by allowing the users to close running apps and free up system resources. To close apps running on Apple TV apps, follow the steps mentioned below:

To close apps on 4th generation and newer version follow the steps below:

Step 1: Press the Home button on the remote to return to Apple TV home screen.

Step 2: Next, double click on the TV button, present at the right side with TV icon on it.

Steps 3: Now, swipe right using remote touch surface to see the apps.

Step 4: Select the app and then swipe up on the Touch surface to force quit the app.

This will help you to close the app. Now press the Home button to exit app switcher and to return to Home Screen of Apple TV.

To switch quickly between apps, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Press Home button twice in consecutively on the remote to open App Switcher. You can do so, while you are using another app.

Step 1: Double click on the TV button present on the remote.

Step 2: Swipe up on the Trackpad to quit all the open apps.
