Quadion’s Team Supercharges a FINTECH Dev Team
For confidentiality purposes, we will not disclose the name of our client, which is one of the world’s leading Software and technology services companies. It provides software and processing solutions for financial services, education and the public sector, serving more than 20K customers in over 100 countries around the world.
Our client was looking for an efficient team of developers who could rapidly integrate with their current dev team in order to perform a major refactor of the product while introducing new features at the same time.
We assigned a development cell and met the expectations during such first release, many years ago. Since then, we have been working together, having merged our teams to comprise a big hybrid development team including people from both companies.
Even though we have used Scrum from the start, we have perfected our dev process over the years. We are currently working with a product roadmap several years in advance and setting yearly releases to PROD, which allow us to create Release Backlogs that we use to estimate and plan workload.
There are 8 Scrum teams working in parallel in Sprints of two weeks each. Scrum ceremonies are religiously held. Plannings, dailies, demos and retrospectives are never missed. And the Sprint time box is fanatically enforced.
All of our software development is done remotely. Hence, team building is key for us. We have succeeded in creating strong bonds between the developers. Our key developers travel to the USA ofterm, for plannings and follow-ups, and some of client’s staff also visit Argentina once or twice a year to work hand in hand with us.
Results have been impressive. Our teams are seamlessly working as one and team velocity and code quality has increased steadily over time. More important, management expectations have been systematically met. We have already delivered several major successful releases to PROD, and we have an ambitious roadmap ahead for years to come.
