SPListX for SharePoint v7.16.3 Released

The new version of Splistx for SharePoint has been released with certain feature enhancements and bug fixes recently. We hope this new version will be a useful update for our customers. These are the bug fixes and enhancements in this new version:

  • Fixed an issue in credential dialog to show the correct user name upon task run. Previously, it showed the currently logged on user name when you commence the newly created export task.
  • Fixed a bug in showing objects count of the selected folder in SPListX explorer view. Previously, it showed the wrong items count.
  • Fixed a hang issue in enumerating large number of files available in a single folder in SPListX explorer view.
  • Enhanced to perform search against current site and sub-sites in Advanced Search in SPListX Explorer of Export SharePoint List contents using the browse option Previously, it searched the entire index.

Fixed an issue in credential dialog to show the correct user name upon task run. Previously, it showed the currently logged on user name when you commence the newly created export task.

The currently logged on user was displayed in the SharePoint Login dialog under the following conditions:

  • Create a new export task, save it and click “Run Now” button in the main tool bar.
  • On an existing export task, click “Edit Task”, proceed with the rest of the steps and click on “Finish” button.

It should normally display the SharePoint credentials that you provide to connect to the SharePoint site.

This has been fixed now.

Fixed a bug in showing objects count of the selected folder in SPListX explorer view. Previously, it showed the wrong items count.

If we enumerate any folder inside a SharePoint library/list in Splistx Explorer and then if we navigate to another folder, it always shows the previous folder item count and its list of items. However, if we hit “F5” or refresh symbol in the application, we can view the exact count of the current folder in the previous version. The mismatch in the items count is fixed in this latest version in explorer view.

Below is the screenshot of v7.16.1 which shows the wrong item count:

Below image shows the exact count in v7.16.3:

Fixed a hang issue in enumerating large number of files available in a single folder in SPListX explorer view.

When enumerating a folder inside a SharePoint library, which consists of large number of files (say 10000 files) in SPListX Explorer, application will hang and it takes more time to load.

In this version, SPListX uses different approach to enumerate if the library/folder consists of large number files. This may impact in performance, when compared to the previous version.

Enhanced to perform search against current site and sub-sites in Advanced Search in SPListX Explorer of Export SharePoint List contents using the browse option task. Previously, it searched the entire index.

If we perform “Advanced Search” in the “Select items to export” window (SPListX Explorer), it queries and reports all sites in the web application. By default, it is set to search the entire index. This has been fixed. If we perform search now, it will show only the current site and sub sites.
