BAT (British American Tobacco) had launched its latest ‘Glo’ last year in Japan. An innovative and new method of smoking. After several months, it’s reported that demand for its “glo” tobacco heating device overwhelmed supply in its Japan test marketing, as global Cigarette giants shift focus to the new product category amid declining smoking population.
The latest “Glo” e-cigg runs a little different from our traditional e-cigg or even vape for that matter. Firstly, there’s a cartridge where the heating element is applied, while the stick comes in another box – much like a regular cigarette.
Instead of burning, the battery-powered devices heat the sticks to generate steams. The companies said the products emit far less smell than conventional cigarettes.
It’s also fairly classy and elegant.
The device is priced at ¥8,000 and will be made available at over 600 convenience stores in Japan. However, it appears that these devices are selling quick with people lining up at 7am when the stores open at 10am!
So for avid smokers out there, are you willing to get one yourself?
