Our management decided in the last quarterly review meeting that since the company had a sizeable stock of almost all Rough gemstones, we shall not invest further for the next one year. Sometimes destiny plays a big role in making things happen. As they say,‘Man proposes God disposes’.

Friends, the top quality of Charoite comes from Russia and due to Governments, strict regulations mining in Russia is almost stopped for many years. Hence you don’t get a regular supply of good Charoite in the gemstone market.

A German gentleman who is a collector of gemstones had a big quantity of Charoite rough and since he used to invest only in fine quality of gemstones this lot of Charoite was also of top quality. He had bought this rough from a Russian miner some 20 years back when Charoite was not as expensive as it is today.

Since this collector, today has become very old and his only son not interested in gemstones or his
father’s collection, the old man started disposing of his collection which he has been collecting for last
30-40 years.

The German has been able to sell most of his collection in the last two years. With everything sold this big lot of Charoite was the last thing, he had in his collection. Since he didn’t want to sell in small quantity there was hardly any buyer interested in buying the whole a lot of 300 Kgs as it meant investing big money.

One casual dinner in Jaipur with a rough dealer, who wanted to meet our director to discuss his daughter’s education abroad, proved the line ‘Man proposes God disposes’ absolutely correct. This well-respected dealer from Jaipur knew about this German and his Charoite rough. He mentioned it to our Director with pictures he had on his mobile. Our director who had decided not to invest in gemstone rough for the next one year, saw a big opportunity in the deal, as mining in Russia being banned and Charoite of top quality not seen in the gemstone market for long, gave him an offer, thinking it would definitely be declined. As luck would have it, the German agreed to the offer!
