HP announced the launch of its latest Chromebox G2 way before the CES 2018. The new HP Chromebox G2 comes with updated features and specifications as compared to the Chromebox that had launched in 2014. HP will be displaying a lot of products with the Google Chrome OS during the CES this year.
Recently, HP had unveiled Chromebook 11 G6 and Chromebook 14 G5, its latest range of Chromebook laptops. And now the company has launched the HP Chromebook G2. The latest Chromebox will be available in a number of configurations which include Intel Core processors from the Kaby Lake and Kaby Lake Refresh generations.
Chrome Unboxed has posted about the details and specifications of the upcoming Chromebox G2. The post mentions that the base model comes with the Celeron 3865U processor and the upgraded models will sport Intel Core i5 7300 seventh generation process and the latest Intel Core i78650U eighth-generation processor.
Additionally, for storage options, the HP Chromebox G2 comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM along with 32GB and 64GB storage options for SSD. The device will come with a various number of ports. The various ports include a single HDMI port, a MicroSD card slot, an Ethernet port, a USB Type-C port and 3 USB 3.0 ports.
Furthermore, the display option for the base Celeron model includes Intel HD Graphics. Whereas the upgraded Core i-series models can connect with a UHD display owing to the Intel UHD Graphics 620 for the display options. The Chromebox G2 will either come with a 90-watt or a 65-watt external power adapter and will be available only in black colour option.
The company has stated that it plans to launch the HP Chromebox G2 in April 2018. Though, the price and other detailed specifications of the latest Chromebox have still not been revealed by the company yet. With the latest Intel Core processors, the Chromebox is definitely set to give a tough competition to the other competitors in the market.
