Deuteronomy 29:2929:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
One of the hardest arguments I think millennials and many young people have regarding the bible is accepting that we will never hold all the answers to life. No matter how much science and communication advance our skills there will always be areas of interest and intrigue that will fall within the realms of philosophy and religion that only God himself can answer.
It does not matter how far advanced medical technology can carry us from being able to do head transplants (yes that is actually being talked about) to curing cancer there will forever be looming questions about the non-physical body that science cannot and should not attempt to answer. For one science will never be able to confirm the existence of an afterlife no more than it could confirm the non-existence of an afterlife.
Another area that deeply troubles young non-believers are the miracles listed throughout scripture and how they can be scientifically validated. Believers even struggle in this regard, but again as this passage tells us there are things and thoughts that belong only to our Creator and we need not concern ourselves with how they happened but why they happened.
Once a person moves beyond criticism and humbles themselves to accept that divine Knowledge is beyond their capacity and that what He has done in amazement is for their benefit they truly are on the path to righteousness. As the proverb teaches us:
Proverbs 2:62:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
This of course requires you as stated to humble yourself before the Lord and acknowledge that His ways are beyond our finite capacity.
My prayer for you today would be if you are struggling with the “How did He do it?” that you would just humble yourself and accept the “Why” of what He did; that being that He wanted you to pursue Him and ask these questions which in turn would lead you into a relationship made possible through Jesus Christ Himself.
