Learn How To Make a Website. The Most Simplistic Guide on the Internet!
How To Make a Website
Have you decided to build a website? Feeling intimidated or afraid? Lack of knowledge? No worries! This short tutorial has been created to help you make your very own website. I will walk you through the whole process, even if you are a complete beginner. It has never been this easy. You will learn how to buy your domain name, establish hosting, and get started.

Now, I am not a programmer and I don’t write code. I haven’t gone to school for web development.  Still, it took me literally 5 minutes to build this site. Why? Because it’s really simple if you know what you are doing.

Right now you might be clueless, but I am here to help.

So let’s begin

Disclaimer: I want to point out that some of the links presented in this article are affiliate links and I will make a commission if you sign up. I personally have used the products linked to on this site and highly recommend them in my humble opinion as I believe them to be of high quality.

Before you build a website site you will need 3 components: Web Hosting, domain name, and a WordPress install. Let’s break it all down and make it simple.

STEP 1 – Web Hosting

Web hosting is a storage space for your website. This is where all the files and folders for your site will reside. It’s just like your personal computer’s hard drive where you store your pictures, documents, and music. The only difference is that it will be located on a cloud, somewhere on a remote server.

For your first website I recommend a shared hosting, where you will share space with a few other websites on one server. Why shared? Well because renting your own server will cost you a lot of money, and quite frankly for a new web site owner like yourself there is just no point to get one. You can either get free or paid shared hosting. I strongly suggest you get paid hosting and here’s why. Since you are going to be sharing a web server with other people, free hosts usually contain tons of spammy websites on them. This means your website will probably not be liked by Google. This is bad for SEO (search engine optimization) and your website will probably never be seen by people due to poor Google rankings. I host ALL my websites with BlueHost. I will provide a link with a discount if you want to sign up with them in the last paragraph.

Next, free hosts are usually really slow. Owners of these hosting companies will cheap out when buying a server. Thus your website’s performance will be really poor. Your site could potentially be down up to 50% of the time depending on how bad the hosting company is. That’s right, 50% of the time your website will be inaccessible, because the server of your host will be unavailable.

Good news are paid hosting is extremely cheap these days, so it’s a no brainer really. You can get a reliable hosting for something like 5-6 bucks a month and its very well worth it. Please don’t make the mistake I did, and invest a few dollars into reliable hosting. You’ll thank me later. I personally use BlueHost. They weed out all the spammers and invest in decent servers. All my website are blazing fast. I would definitely recommend these guys. I actually was able to get a promotion because I worked with them for a while, so if you decide to host through them click HERE to get the discount.

STEP 2 – Domain Name

A domain name is basically your website’s address on the internet. Just like you have your home address, your website has its address as well. So this website’s address is

A domain name usually cost 10.99 and you can go with any big company like, or As a new customer BlueHost provides you with a FREE domain. You can only do this once as a new customer, so take advantage. You’ll save 11 bucks so that’s another reason to go with them.Keep in mind when you register a domain, you should get a privacy package with it or you first and last name will be visible on the internet. There will be a check box before you check out, and it’ll say something like “Add who is privacy.” I suggest you do that, unless you don’t really care whether people know that you own your website.

Step 3 – Putting it All Together

Once you check out and pay, you will need to connect your domain address to your web hosting. I think BlueHost does it automatically. That should save you some time. If you decide to go with another company, you’ll need to log in to your hosting account and find out your name servers. Usually those are listed right on your front page dashboard and will be something like Then you’ll log into your domain provider’swebsite and in the setting add those name servers for your domain.

Our site is almost ready.

The last step is installing a WordPress through your hosting account. WordPress is a free software bundle that 95% of website owners use on the internet. It’s super intuitive, free, and requires no coding. Most decent hosting companies provide a website builder that will help you with the install. All you have to do is click on WordPress and then click install.

Once you fill out basic information about your site such as user name and password and other mundane things. Click install and rest will complete automatically.

And we are done! Now go in your browser and type and click log in. But please do not actually type ‘YOURDOMAIN’. Type the domain address that you have came up with. Don’t be a dummy.

And we are done! You are ready to start creating your content, add pictures, and spread your ideas with the world!
