BJP national president Amit Shah has reportedly assured senior leader L K Advani that the “party is with you” a day after the Supreme Court announced that criminal conspiracy charges will be levied against Senior Bjp Leaders in connection with the Babri Masjid Demolition.

Apart from Advani, other BJP leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Vinay Katiyar have also been accused in the conspiracy case. According to reports, Shah called Advani after finalising the BJP strategy to handle the apex court ruling.

Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti had announced that she would travel to Ayodhya but was asked to cancel her plans by Shah as she had been scheduled for campaigning in Delhi ahead of MCD polls.

Following the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992, two separate legal cases were filed. One was against the ‘karsevaks’ or volunteers who actually carried out the demolition while the second case was filed against senior BJP leaders who addressed a rally before the demolition which allegedly ‘instigated’ the violence.
