Missing JNU Student Najeeb Ahmed On Anti-Depressants: Police

The search for Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Najeeb Ahmed who went missing from campus on October 15 continues, but police have recently discovered that Ahmed was taking anti-depressants and medicines for insomnia and obsessive compulsive disorder and was depressed the night before he went ‘missing’.

The 27-year-old Ahmed had an altercation with members of the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad the night before he ‘disappeared’ and since then the search has been on.

However, according to reports, Ahmed was depressed that night as well and disappeared from his room in the morning.

In face of this new information, police are considering the possibility that Ahmed left the JNU campus willingly and have expanded their search for him to include his childhood friends homes.

Ahmed’s mother maintains that Ahmed was fit “The police are making this up because they are unable to find my son,” she told a leading daily.
