In another big jolt for the Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has come under the Income Tax scanner for allegedly indulging in hawala transfer of nearly Rs 17 crore. Regarding which, the IT department has asked Jain to appear before October 4.
Denying the allegations, Jain told news agencies, “This is not an investigation, its just a re-assessment. I have been called as a witness, in past I had invested in these companies which are being re-assessed.”
According to Income Tax Department, four companies of Jain have illegally transferred Rs 17 crore while he received cheques issued to these companies. He is alleged to have used that money to buy properties near unauthorised colonies.
