Iran Reaches Banking, Energy Agreements with Russia, Turkey

“Today, on Friday, September 7, during the trilateral meeting of Iran, Russia, and Turkey, along with Oil Minister (Bijan Namdar Zanganeh), we had beneficial and constructive bilateral meetings with trade officials of Russia and Turkey with the presidents of the (three countries) in attendance,” Abdonnaser Hemmati said on social media.

“The sale of oil, purchase of basic goods, expansion of banking relations, exchange of national currency with the aim of ditching the (US) dollar and development of trade and economic relations were the main topics of the negotiations and agreements with the two neighboring countries,” he said.

The CBI governor added that he plans to follow up on the agreements in his upcoming meeting with the governor of the Central Bank of Russia in Moscow.

The trilateral summit between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian and Turkish counterparts, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, about the Syrian crisis was held in Tehran on Friday.

Ahead of the summit, the three presidents had held separate bilateral meetings on issues of mutual interest.
