Journalist and TV Presenter, Piers Morgan, who is known for trolling celebrities, has taken a jibe at the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, who held the umbrella for her husband while he presented a 7-minute speech in a drought-stricken Australia town.

While visiting, the royal couple and Dubbo citizens were surprised by the downpouring of rain they received as Harry took the stage. The prince was then offered his own umbrella, but Meghan said “I got it” and stepped up to keep him covered as he delivered a seven-minute address to the crowd.

He commended the residents of the country town, saying “You are the backbone of this country,” but acknowledged “I know that life has not been easy.” He recounted the years of drought and struggle the community has gone through and encouraged them to speak out when they need aid.

Piers Morgan is obviously not here for anything mushy, and he took to Twitter to opine that the duchess is putting her acting prowess to use in fulfilling her role as royalty by this simple gesture.
