The University of Missouri has officially revoked American Comedian and actor Bill Cosby’s Honorary degree.

According to USA Today, the Board of Curators of the University made the decision to strip Bill Cosby of his Honorary Degree in Humane Letters which was bestowed in 1999.

The decision followed alleged sexual assault scandals associated with the comedian. The comedian, two years ago also lost some of his honors.

The System President of the University Mun Y. Choi  stated the reason for the University’s Decision:

“Honorary degrees throughout the University of Missouri System are reserved for those who have ascended to the pinnacle of their fields while conducting themselves consistent with the university’s core values,” the statement said. “The evidence presented during the recent criminal trial indicated that (Cosby) engaged in behavior that is in direct conflict with the core values of the University of Missouri,” he said.

This move by the University of Missouri comes a week after a mistrial was declared in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault case.
