New Delhi: The apex Court of India dropped contempt proceedings against Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari for breaking the seal of a commercial establishment here on Thursday.
The two judge bench headed by the Justice Madan B. Lokur said it was “pained by his conduct” and termed him as “a rebel without cause” and his action a ‘misplaced bravado’.
“We are extremely pained by Manoj Tiwari’s behaviour of taking law into his own hands”. He also levelled vexatious allegations against court-mandated committee, which shows how “low he can stoop.”

The BJP leader came under court’s wrath when he openly defied court’s orders by broking the seal of a house sealed by East Delhi Municipal Corporation. The property was sealed on the grounds for running an illegal dairy in Mangolpuri area here on September 15.
The video of the same went viral on social media, setting up a bad example of breaking law from someone of his rank.
