Lucknow: There is a good news for the seekers of Industrial and commercial power connections in Uttar Pradesh. Now they will not have to run from pillar to post to get no-objection certificate (NOC) from Electrical Safety Directorate (ESD), instead they will get it online.

A dedicated portal has been launched, under the monitoring of Special Secretary Uttar Pradesh Energy Ministry, Shubhra Saxena, posted as Director ESD. The tech savvy IAS officer is trying to make it more efficient and user-friendly, as from here on all the NOCs for every type of industrial and commercial connections will be issued online within 20 days.

If the NOC is not issued within the given period of 20 days, the notification will automatically get conveyed to the superior officials that will be helpful in bringing transparency in the system.

Tech savvy Shubhra Saxena, who has served as DM of several districts in UP, was praised by Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma in the review meeting of the portal for her inputs.

Shrikant Sharma also ordered to connect the ESD with 1912 helpline to provide guidance to the connection seekers. He said that it was important to set accountability of the officials to transform the poor image of the department.
